There was surely a unique happening at The Bridge in Dunfanaghy last weekend when a father and son were on opposing teams in a GAA match.
Ryan Connors of Dungloe had the bragging rights as the Rosses men scored a fine 5-15 to 1-11 win over a St Michael’s team that his dad, the former Donegal player Brian McLaughlin, at full-forward.
McLaughlin scored 1-2 for St Michael’s, but it wasn’t enough for victory as Dungloe had the upper hand.
Connors scored 1-1 for the winners, who advanced with 16 points to spare.
