Naomh Columba staged a smash-and-grab to defeat Termon at the Burn Road and claim a valuable two points.
Termon 2-6 Naomh Columba 1-11
Termon who were on the back foot from the off as Naomh Columba raced into a four-point lead thanks to Paddy Byrne (2), Pauric Ward (2) and Pauric Cunningham (3).
That helped put them 0-7 to 0-3 in front with Steve McElwaine and Caolan McDaid (2) on the mark for Termon.
Whatever the Termon manager Hugh Harkin said to his troops at the break had an immediate impact as a new urgency took hold.
Anthony McGrenra raised a green flag soon after the resumption following a footblock in the Glen goalmouth.
Steve McElwaine responded, but Ryan Gillespie arched over for Naomh Columba again.
Caolan McDaid cut the margin to the minimum, but Paddy Byrne punted over two long-range efforts against the win and Naomh Columba looked comfortable.
With Glen playing keep-ball, Rickie Gallagher intercepted and off-loaded to Caolan McDaid who fired home to square the contest up.
The never-say-die Naomh Columba roared to life again. Gillespie powered into the area and drove past Conor Tinney
It was perhaps rough justie on Termon, who played well and will feel as if they could have had a share of the spoils, but the loss of Daire McDaid early on and the non-availability of Enda McCormack – who is in New York with the Donegal seniors – had a big influence.
