BRENDAN Boyce settled for silver at the Irish Life Health National 20km race walk championships today.
Finn Valley AC’s Boyce finished second in St Anne’s Park with David Kenny taking the gold.
Last weekend, Kenny beat Boyce to gold in the men’s 5,000m race walk at the Irish Senior Indoor Championships.
Today, Kenny set a blistering 20km time of 1:23:04 to go fifth on the all-time list.
Boyce – sixth last year in the men’s 50km race walk at the World Championships in Doha – was second in 1:24:43. The Milford native has already qualified for the 2020 Olympic Games, which will be his third after appearances in London 2012 and Rio 2016.
