LETTERKENNY’S SHAUNA MCFADDEN came home in a ninth-placed finish in a top-class ladies field in Belgium on Saturday.
The 16-year-old played rode aggressively and broke clear on a couple of occasions in the field of 80 in Moerzeke. In the end, she had to be content with a top-10 finish in the sprint.
[adrotate group=”39″]McFadden, last Monday week, began her three weeks with ‘The Belgian Project’. This is an inspiring initiative run on a voluntary basis by Dany Blondeel in Ireland. The project focuses on talented young riders who have dreams of racing in Belgium and making cycling their career.
This year, in her first senior outing, McFadden finished second in the annual George Rooney Phoenix Grand Prix Sponsored by Portview Fit-out Ltd on the Nutt’s Corner Circuit in Belfast.
