SHAUN PATTON kept a clean sheet tonight as Derry City drew 0-0 with Cork City in the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division.
The Letterkenny native (pictured above) kept goal for the side under the caretaker management of Paul Hegarty, from Ballindrait, at Turner’s Cross.
Former Finn Harps netminder Patton acquitted himself well, making saves to deny John O’Flynn on two occasions and then to get the better of Garry Buckley, to seal a point that leaves Derry in eighth placed in the table.
Ramelton’s Barry McNamee played the 90 minutes for Derry, while Buncrana native Mark Timlin was replaced by Cillian Morrison from Letterkenny on 69 minutes.
Ballybofey’s Johnny Dunleavy was in midfield for the hosts, who remain in second place in the table but are 11 points behind runaway leaders Dundalk.
