THREE GOALS FROM Shane McGinty helped Institute to a 5-2 win after extra-time against Bangor at the Bangor All Fuels Arena this afternoon.
The St Johnston native opened the scoring with a penalty for the Derry side and then put them 2-1 up in the 51st minute following an equaliser from Dean Youle for the hosts.
Bangor would level again, this time when Kris Pike scored direct from a free-kick to make it 2-2 on 90 minutes.
Twenty-one-year-old McGinty scored his third in the 95th minute and the tie was made safe for Institute when Robbie Hume and Gareth Browne scored late on.
