DEMPSEY McGuigan finished seventh in the men’s hammer at the European Throwing Cup today,
The Finn Valley AC representative reached out to a best of 67.43m.
That came on his second attempt having threw 66.27m at the first go at the Stadion Park Mladezi in Split, Croatia.
McGuigan was in the B final, won by German Tristan Schwandke’s 72.42m. A PB by Poland’s Marcin Wrotynski (71.72m) earned second with Henri Liipola from Finland third with a best of 71.17m.
McGuigan is the Donegal record holder in the hammer, having reached out to 70.55m in 2017 in USA.
McGuigan finished sixth at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Australia.
