MICHAEL DUFFY has been called into the Northern Ireland for Sunday-week’s World Cup qualifier against the Czech Republic.
The 22-year-old is on loan at Dundee from Celtic. Last summer, Duffy joined Celtic from Derry City having played his youth football at Kildrum Tigers.
Duffy is the son of former Kildrum player Michael ‘Bamber’ Duffy with the Duffy family retaining strong links to St Johnston.
Duffy has played with Northern Ireland at Under-19 and Under-21 level, but has now been called up by Michael O’Neill for next weekend’s game at the Generali Arena in Prague.
“Michael is rewarded for his work with Dundee and he has played consistently for the Under-21s – he’s always made himself available for the Under-21 side,” O’Neill said.
