SEAMUS COLEMAN HAS donated €5,000 to help a young Everton supporter to realise his dream.
Six-year-old Daire Flannagan from Belfast suffers from Apert syndrome and there was a Go Fund Me page set up to try and raise £1,000 to enable the young Everton supporter to travel to Merseyside to see his team in action.
“This affects the growing of his skull in the wrong way,” reads a blog on the youngster’s condition. “Daire’s mother and father were told when he was born he might not live to see the first 48 hours of his life, but as a fighter that he is he’s still with us today and fighting strong. I as a friend have set up the Facebook page to get Saire on a day he will never forget at goodison park were Everton FC.”
That dream is now a reality as Coleman, a native of Killybegs and who became a father himself for the first time six weeks ago, donated £5,000 to the charity.
Coleman’s generosity has been paid tribute to on Twitter
