In the 32nd minute Cloughaneely scored an untidy goal after a defensive mix-up allowed the visitors in with Paul Sweeney getting the last touch.
At the other end, a Martin O’Reilly long range shot in fell short of the goals and Steven O’Reilly turned goal provider once again and passed the ball down to Alan Patton who composed himself well to get enough of his foot on the ball to beat the Cloughaneely keeper Shaun McClafferty and give MacCumhaills a much needed goal.
Cloughaneely were given a lifeline when the shot from Ciaran Scanlon had sneaked in to give them their second goal of the game and lower the deficit back to two points.
With the game getting heated and both teams still going for the win Steven O’Reilly was fouled in the square and had set up each of his team’s three goals. Martin O’Reilly converted with the last kick of the game to earn a vital two points for MacCumhaill’s.
