Sean MacCumhaills GAA Club in Ballybofey are holding their first ever Fun Day on Saturday 1st September from 12- 4pm at Sean MacCumahill Park.
This is a free event open to members and non-members and promises to be a fantastic event for kids of all ages!
What promises to be a great weekend kicks off on Friday evening with the club’s annual 1k/5k fun run.
Registration takes place from 6pm with the 1k starting at 6.30pm (under 6 -under 14) and the 5k commencing at 7.30pm.
Start time for the fun day on Saturday is 12 noon and details of competition times are set out below.
Every child who participates will receive a medal and the theme of the Fun Day is community focused.
There will be an array of attractions to include Arts and crafts, Face painting, novelty races, toddler play area, life size costume characters, ball catching, penalty shoot outs and star attraction, the Coast Guard Helicopter which will land during the afternoon.
Tea and refreshments will be available on the day and there are fantastic raffle prizes to be won including an overnight stay in Jacksons Hotel, Ballybofey.
Stalls from O’ Reilly Sports, Jigsaw and B&S Credit Union will be in attendance and much much more.
The Donegal Senior Men and Ladies Ulster trophies and the Senior Hurlers Nicky Rackard Cup will also be in attendance and there will also be a surprise guest or two on the day.
World Handball Champion Avril McNamee will be in attendance and any kid who wishes to test their skills in the Handball Alley are more than welcome.
There will be traffic restrictions on the day and there will be no car parking available within the centre grounds.
Public parking is available in McElhinney’s Car Park opposite MaCumhaill Park and on the grounds of St Mary’s Church Stranorlar which is located a short distance away on the Stranorlar side of the River Finn.
There is also public parking available opposite Lidl in Ballybofey all of which are only a few minutes walk from MacCumhaill Park.
There will be music in the club centre from 9pm on Saturday night and Sean MacCumhaills will be entering everyone who attends the celebrations in the clubhouse on Saturday night into a free door prize draw of an overnights stay for 2 in the Hodson Bay Hotel, Athlone with Breakfast and an evening meal.
A great weekend is in store and we would like to see as many people as possible come along to join in the fun.
