Seamus Coleman will be included in Everton’s squad for Wednesday’s Premier League game against Leicester City at Goodison Park.
Coleman returned from his double leg break last week when he played in Everton’s U23 win over Portsmouth, playing 58 minutes of the 3-0 win.
The Killybegs man had been out of action since sustaining the horror injury last March while captaining the Republic of Ireland against Wales in a World Cup qualifier at Aviva Stadium.
Sam Allardyce, the Everton manager, has confirmed that Coleman will be in the match day squad this week again.
“Seamus is training with us regularly and is in the squad for Wednesday now,” Allardyce said.
“It seems that, touch wood, hopefully from here on in he can have an injury-free until the end of the season. He’s a very important player as we know.
“If and when he does play he needs time, he’s been out for an awful long time.
“He’s had such a long period of time out he can’t be expected to hit his top form immediately.
“But it’s very important to have him back with his influence not just as a player but as a person and a human being.”
