SEAMUS COLEMAN WAS disappointed with the Republic of Ireland’s performance in today’s Euro 2016 defeat by Belgium.
Ireland went down 3-0 to Belgium in Bordeaux, a result that means it is now a very tall order for Martin O’Neill’s team to progress.
Marc Wilmonts’ Belgium were well in command throughout what was a one-sided contest.
Killybegs man Coleman cleared off the line from Tottenham Hotspur’s Toby Alderweireld late in the first half.

“We’re disappointed with how we played. We’re all Premier League and Championship footballers,” Coleman told Off The Ball on Newstalk.
“We know how to play football and as the manager said, we didn’t keep the ball well enough and that’s disappointing but it’s going to hurt for the night, but we have to get ready to go again.
“We didn’t play as well as we would have liked first half.
[adrotate group=”70″]“We kept them at bay but we wanted to do a little bit more ourselves, which we didn’t manage to do and unfortunately they scored the goal which was from a free-kick that we had and they broke on us and when you go 1-0 down then you’re chasing the game to get back into the game and unfortunately we left gaps.”
