The Everton manager, Marco Silva, says he expects Seamus Coleman to make a return to action ‘in one or two weeks’.
Coleman suffered a stress fracture in his foot while on international duty with the Republic of Ireland and had to sit out Tuesday evening’s friendly with Poland.
News that Everton expect the full-back to make a quicker-than-anticipated return will be music to the ears of Ireland manger Martin O’Neill ahead of the Nations League games against Denmark and Wales in October.
“Our medical staff will report Seamus’s condition soon, but he is maybe out for one or two weeks – nothing more,” Silva said.
