ST JOHNSTON were beaten by three wickets at the hands of Glendermott on Saturday.
Scott Macbeth celebrated his call-up to the North West Under-17 squad with a superb display for the Saints, but it wasn’t enough to inspire the Donegal side to a win at The Rectory.
Macbeth notched 81 runs, his tally including three sixes and 11 fours.
His father, Ian, weighed in with 23 runs while David Lapsley clipped 21 as St Johnston made 192 runs when they were all out.
Professional Nauman Anwar opened the response and he led the way for Glendermott, posting 47 before he was caught and bowled by Macbeth.
The teenager also claimed the wicket of Jason Lynch, caught by Lapsley after making 37, while Bob Robinson scored 40 runs before he was caught by Saints’ captain Michael Rankin off the bowl of David Anthony.
Glendermott made 195 for the loss of seven wickets.
Meanwile, Sam Macbeth has been named on the North West Under-15 squad, which has also been confirmed in recent days.
