DONAL RODGERS had the game of his life yesterday scoring SIX goals for Keadue Rovers – all of them in the first half.
Rodgers netted the double hat-trick in Keadue’s away game at Drumoghill FC in The Moss. Rodgers struck six times in the first 45 minutes as Keadue raced into a 6-0 lead by break and they went on to win 7-1.

In wintery conditions it was the home side who took the lead when a crossed ball from Daniel Sharkey found Shaun McCafferty who volleyed home.
It took Orchard time to find their game plan but they got back on level terms when Eddie Moore scored from closed range.
The second half was nip and tuck as both teams looked for the victory.
It was the visitors who took the lead when Luke Friel pounced on a defensive error but the home side got back on level terms when Micheal McCausland quickly latched onto a crossed ball and knocked it into Brendan McGeady’s path to score.
Both teams worked hard and pushed hard for the victory and Orchard took the points when Mike Sweeney beat the defence to knock the ball past Ciaran Boyce.

Castlefin Celtic Reserves 6 Cappry Rovers Reserves 1
Castlefin secured their first victory of the New Year when they defeated a young Cappry side on Saturday in Parkview.
The hosts started the brighter and took the lead in the 10th minute when Stephen Roulston headed home after a Keith Nelis flick on.
The home side doubled their advantage when another Nelis flick on found Simon Mc Glinchey at the back post and he made no mistake from close range.
Cappry came more into the game and were rewarded for their pressure when Shaun Bannigan slotted home after good midfield play with 35 minutes played. In the second half the home side increased their lead when Roulston broke down the left squared to Brian Dooher who finished well.
In the 60th minute Nelis finally got his goal when he took on three defenders on the left and slotted home from a tight angle.
In the 72nd minute Gavin Mc Nulty made it five when he finished well after a Thomas Devlin through ball. In the 83rd Paul Logue got the final goal of the game when he volleyed to the bottom corner from 25 yards.
Milford United Reserves 1 Glenea United Reserves 5
This game was switched to Flag Pole Rathmullan with Milford’s pitch being unplayable.
Glenea were awarded a penalty after 20 minutes for a handball.
Martin Ferry made no mistake to give Glenea the lead. Milford had a chance to get back into the game 10 minutes later when they also were awarded a penalty for a handball. Conor Meakin saw his effort saved by the Glenea keeper.
With only 35 minutes gone Glenea were awarded their second penalty, from a corner the referee spotted a push. Up stepped Martin Ferry again to make it 2-0.
Five minutes later Michael McHugh broke the offside trap to give Glenea a 3-0 halftime lead.
Milford improved in the second half but some slack defending allowed Chris Cannon space in the box to make it 4-0. On the hour mark Milford were awarded their second penalty of the game for holding just inside the box.
With Adam Bolton taking over penalty duties he found the bottom corner to make it 4-1.
With Milford pushing trying to get back in the game they were caught on the break. Michael McHugh beat the last defender one on one before smashing home his second of the game.

Drumoghill F.C. Reserves 1 Keadue Rovers Reserves 7
Drumoghill were out-classed in the first half of this game by a strong Keadue team. Donal Rodgers was the hero of the day as he scored all six goals for Keadue in the first half.
In the second half Drumoghill did pick up the tempo and took the game to Keadue and started to get a few balls in behind the Keadue defence.
Ethan Cready scorer from Drumoghill before Daniel Bonner headed home to round off a strong team performance by Keadue.
