SADIE Duffy has been returned for another term as the secretary of the Ulster Boxing Council.
The Illies Golden Gloves clubwoman, who is one of Ireland’s top boxing referees, was re-elected at the Ulster Boxing Congress, which was held in the Gateway Hotel, Buncrana on Sunday.
Duffy (pictured above) was opposed for the position by Malachy Scott from Glengormley, but the Buncrana woman won the election by 70 votes to 27.
Derry’s Paul McMahon was opposed for the post of President, but he overcame the challenge of Paddy Barnes senior 72-24 while Strabane’s Ben McGarrigle will be the Vice-President.
Illies’ Stephen Friel was elected as a member of the Council.
