THERE WERE A few eyebrows raised when Ryan McHugh wasn’t named on The Sunday Game Team of the Year last weekend.
The Kilcar clubman (pictured above by Geraldine Diver), though, still had a good enough few days as on Sunday he helped his side to a first ever Donegal SFC in 23 years following their impressive 5-10 to 0-11 win over Naomh Conaill.
[adrotate group=”85″]McHugh wasn’t named on the RTÉ Team of the Year but is tipped for an All-Star award following his fine showings that helped Donegal to the Ulster final and All-Ireland quarter-final against Dublin.
Named at right-half forward, McHugh was this week named on the SportsJoe.ie Team of the Year by Derry journalist, Conan Doherty.
[adrotate group=”81″]“Really overlooked but he has hit massive scores, goals and points in massive games for Donegal this year. Couldn’t be marked,” Doherty said of McHugh.
