TWO young Rosses AC ladies competed at the weekend past with some of the best in the country at the Athletics Ireland National Indoor Senior Championships in Abbotstown.
Fodhla Nic Phaidin and Leah NÃ Ghairbhigh competed in the Senior Women Long Jump.
Fodhla is returning to competing this year and has switched events from Triple Jump to Long Jump and results are starting to show that she is making steady progress awith consistent jumping pre outdoor season.
Leah was delighted to get some jumping practice in having not jumped competitively since last July and very happy with a new PB of 4.96cm with 5m beckoning.
Well done to Amy Green and Kieran Glackin who were representing Rosses Community School at the Ulster Schools Cross Country Championships.
Amy finished second and has secured qualification for All Ireland schools on March 7th in Santry, Dublin.
A number of club athletes attended the Donegal Fastest Feet event at Finn Valley last week.
Well done to all and especially Niamh Doogan who claimed 3rd place – after a sprint off.
