Should Donegal defeat Down next Sunday at Clones, they will come up against Rory Gallagher and Fermanagh in the Ulster final.
In the first of the 2018 Ulster SFC semi-finals, Gallagher’s Fermanagh landed a dramatic win over red-hot favourites Monaghan in Omagh.
Fermanagh captain Eoin Donnelly flicked home the winning goal in added time to give the Erne a 1-8 to 0-10 win.
The goal helped book Fermanagh’s place in the Ulster final for the first time since 2008.
Fermanagh have never won the Ulster title, but have become the first team in this year’s final.
Gallagher stepped down as Donegal manager last year after three years in charge.
In 2015 and 2016, Gallagher was unlucky not to win an Ulster Championship with Donegal narrowly beaten by Monaghan and Tyrone in those finals.
After a heavy semi-final loss to Tyrone was followed later in the summer by an All-Ireland qualifier hammering by Galway, Gallagher resigned and was replaced by Declan Bonner.
Next Sunday, Donegal and Down joust for the right to meet Fermanagh.
