RONAN CURTIS nailed a memorable winner as Portsmouth saw off Harrogate Town in the FA Cup first round.
Pompey finally saw the light at Harrogate Town to book their place in the second round of the Emirates FA Cup.
The game was delayed by 50 minutes due to power failure at Wetherby Road, but it was Curtis who saw the light for Pompey.
Non-League Harrogate stunned Portsmouth when Mark Beck’s header put them in front after just seven minutes.
However, ten minutes later Brandon Haunstrup drew Portsmouth level when he curled home past James Belshaw from the edge of the area.
Curtis then put Portsmouth ahead before half time with a cracking goal. The St Johnston man – who has missed out on a place in the Republic of Ireland senior squad – let fly with a sensational 30-yard strike that dipped home.
Portsmouth will be at home to Altrincham in the next round.
