Gaoth Dobhair begin their 2019 campaign with a home game to Naomh Conaill Division 1 of the All-County Football League with the new season’s fixtures confirmed by the Competitions Controls Committee.
Gaoth Dobhair, the Ulster and Donegal SFC winners in 2018 and the reigning League champions, welcome Naomh Conaill – whom they beat in the county final last year – to Magheragallon on April 7.
Gaoth Dobhair’s last campaign only ended last month when they were beaten by Corofin in an All-Ireland club semi-final.
Newly-promoted Sean MacCumhaills are away to St Eunan’s in their opener, while Kilcar host Glenswilly, St Michael’s are at home to Cloughaneely, and Bundoran – the 2018 Division 2 winners.
The League action actually begins the previous weekend, on March 30, when St Michael’s play Miford at The Bridge.
“CLG Dhun na nGall would like to thank Declan Martin and the CCC for the trojan work involved in getting these fixtures agreed and completed in a timely fashion,” the Donegal County Board said.
“CLG Dhún na nGall would also like to thank our sponsors. Division 1 is sponsored by Brian McCormack Sports and Leisure, while Marley Travel are sponsors of Division 2. These two companies also sponsor the respective Reserve competitions.
“Yes Chef Catering are sponsoring Division 3. There are also two new regionally-based Division 3 Reserve Leagues, both sponsored by YesChef. Division 4 is sponsored by Jimmy McGlynn Catering.
“As was the case in 2018, the leagues are all scheduled for completion by the end of August in time for the Senior Championship.”
