LAGAN HARPS HAVE their fate in their own hands heading into the penultimate weekend in the Temple Domestic Appliances Division One.
The side managed by Keith Hegarty (pictured above) are three points in front of both their two nearest challengers – Convoy Arsenal and Donegal Town FC – and are away from home in each of their last two fixtures.
This Sunday, Lagan go to Keadue Rovers and they know a win means they’ll, at worst, face a play-off for the league title. And should the Manorcunningham team win on Sunday, if Donegal fail to win at Kerrykeel and Convoy come up short at neighbours Raphoe Town then the title will be on its way to Lagan.
A week later, Lagan travel to Kerrykeel, while Donegal Town welcome Lifford Celtic and Convoy are down to play Bonagee United away from home.

Bonagee United 1-2 Kerrykeel ’71 F.C.
Cranford United 3-3 Convoy Arsenal
Gweedore United 0-3 Raphoe Town
Cranford United 3 Convoy Arsenal 3
Cranford got a dream start with two early goals from the ever reliable Andrew Kelly and Lee Carr but Convoy dug deep to bring it back to 2-2 at half time.
The second half was a tight affair with both teams having good chances. Convoy took the lead with a well taken goal but Cranford came back to grab the equaliser and damage Convoy’s chances of a league title.
Bonagee United 1 Kerrykeel ’71 F.C. 2
The visitors opened the scoring on 10 minutes when a cross from Shaun Patton on the right fell to Joe Blaney inside the box and he fired home from 12 yards.
They got their second on seventeen minutes when Brian Mc Bride broke down the right and his cross into the box was directed home by Andrew Friel. Bonagee came close to scoring on 20 minutes when a Shane Kelly corner was headed over by Noel O’ Donnell from six yards.
Paddy O’ Loan came close for the home side on the half hour but his great strike from twenty yards went just wide of the post. Bonagee started the second half much better and had strikes on goal from Shane Kelly and Gareth Temple but nothing to bother Niall Doherty in the visitor’s goal.
Bonagee pulled a goal back on the hour when Noel O’Donnell hammered home from ten yards after a cross from the right. Kerrykeel parked the bus at this stage and Bonagee found it very difficult to get through. Bonagee should have levelled the game on 80 minutes after a cross into the back post from Gareth Temple fell to Paddy O’ Loan but he shot wide from six yards.
Kerrykeel were always a threat on the break with Patton and Mc Bride testing Carr in the home goal on 83 and 86.
