THE GAA HAS confirmed the referee for Sunday’s Ulster SFC final between Donegal and Tyrone.
Meath whistler David Coldrick will take charge of the titanic tussle between Ulster’s heavyweight contenders at Clones.
Coldrick officiated the 2013 and 2015 Ulster finals, both of which saw Donegal lose to Monaghan.
Coldrick was previously in charge of Donegal and Tyrone when they met in the 2012 Ulster SFC semi-final, a game won 0-12 to 0-10 by Donegal on their way to winning Ulster and All-Ireland titles that year.
Cavan’s Joe McQuillan took charge of the 2013 and 2015 meetings of Donegal and Tyrone, but Coldrick is the man tasked by the Central Competitions Controls Committee (CCCC) for Sunday’s blockbuster.
Most recently, Coldrick refereed Tyrone’s semi-final replay win over Cavan.
