Raphoe ABC toasted another successful season at their annual presentation in Friel’s Hotel, Raphoe, tonight.
The Raphoe club, founded 30 years ago, continues to thrive under head coach Gary McCullagh.
This year, young Leah Gallen won an Irish title as she overcame Keisha Attwell in the Girl 5 66kgs final in Dublin.
Raphoe had a number of other successes over the last 12 months.
Raphoe honoured founder member Tommy Stewart with an appreciation award for his continued hard work in the club, while Donegal Daily/Donegal Sport Hub Sports Editor Chris McNulty was also presented with an appreciation award for his coverage of the sport.
Club Person of the Year was Donegal’s ‘Mr Boxing’, Peter O’Donnell.
Ballindrait man Dennis Lafferty, who reached an Ulster Senior final, was named as best senior boxer with ‘The Bullet’, Eoin McGarrell getting the award for best overall boxer, collecting the Billy ’Spider’ Kelly Memorial Shield.
Among the attendance was former Irish heavyweight champion Eamonn Coyle, who helped to present the awards.
