Dr Maguire returned to Magheragallon on Sunday amid jubilant scenes as Gaoth Dobhair won Donegal football’s top prize for a record 15th time.
Mervyn O’Donnell’s men bridged a 12-year gap with a 0-17 to 1-7 win over Naomh Conaill and Dr Maguire was, once again, headed west.
Odhrán Mac Niallais kicked eight points and the bonfires were blazing as Gaoth Dobhair savoured their moment of glory.
Captain Niall Friel carried the famous piece of silverware into a packed clubhouse and supporters, young and old, toasted the victory.
