Pettigo confirm withdrawal from Junior A Championship

PETTIGO have withdrawn from the Michael Murphy Sports Junior A Football Championship, it has been confirmed.

Pettigo were pencilled in for a home game against Robert Emmets this afternoon, but did not fulfill the fixture having conveyed their decision to withdraw from the competition to the Donegal Competitions Controls Committee (CCC) early in the week.

Their withdrawal leaves three teams – Moville, Downings and Robert Emmets – in Group B of the Junior A Championship, but they have vowed to continue to fulfill their games in Division 4 of the All-County Football League.

At Carrick Field this afternoon, Moville defeated Downings by a point, though there was some controversy with scorekeepers at the venue having the scores tied at the conclusion.
