A SINGLE GOAL from Dean Jarvis was enough for Derry City to see off Shamrock Rovers at the Brandywell tonight in the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division.
Buncrana native Mark Timlin’s corner was headed home by Jarvis on 73 minutes to give Ballindrait native Paul Hegarty (pictured above left with Declan Devine) a winning start, having taken over as caretaker manager following Peter Hutton’s sacking on Tuesday.
Barry McNamee from Ramelton was a 34th minute substitute for the injured Patrick McEleney. Letterkenny duo Shaun Patton and Cillian Morrison were unused substitutes for Derry.
