LETTERKENNY man Patrick Quinlivan won four bronze medals at the Special Olympics World Games in Los Angeles.
The well-known Aura Centre employee (33) had four fourth-place finishes in a magnificent performance in the gymnastics section.
Quinlivan claimed bronze in the male rings with a score of 16,350, parallel bars scoring 16,963, vaulting where he scores 16,000 and in the horizontal bars where he scored 15,550.
He also took fourth for floor exercises, pommel horse and all-round.
A member of the SALTO Special Olympics Club in Belfast and North West Special Olympics in Letterkenny, Quinlivan won four golds and two silvers at the Games in North Car0lina way back in 1999 and has been at the top of his field for the best part of the last 20 years.
Patrick has a mild form of cerebral palsy and trains every day, traveling to Belfast each Wednesday.
He follows in the footsteps of Buncrana golfer Oliver Doherty, who won a silver medal in his event.
Irish athletes have claimed of 20 Gold, 24 Silver, & 26 Bronze medals in Los Angeles. Team Ireland is due back in Dublin airport at 8am on Tuesday.
