PADDY MCSHANE HAS another Irish title in his sights tonight at the National Stadium in Dublin.
The Letterkenny ABC man takes on Portlaoise puncher Odhrán McInerney in the 36kgs final at the National Junior Cadet Championships.
In April, McShane won an Irish Boy 3 title with a final win over MJ O’Brien and is on the scent of another tonight when he goes through the ropes at the South Circular Road venue.
Last week, McShane held sway against Johnny Joyce of Mullingar in his semi-final, starting well and finishing well to claim the win.
McInerney scored a big win over Darndale’s Jake Ward, but McShane has the smell of glory now and goes in search of his second Irish crown in as many months.
The IABA are using the Championships as part of their selection process for next month’s European Schoolboy Championships in Croatia.
