The Otway Jimmy Bruen team put up a courageous performance in the regional qualifiers last Sunday in Portsalon but unfortunately were just shy of qualification in a tightly fought contest.
This Sunday it’s the turn of the Pierce Purcell team to make their bid at Faughan Valley GC.
On Saturday the minor league team are in action in their first match of the season at home to Cruit Island GC, in what is always a fiercely fought, but ‘friendly’ battle.
Best of luck to all players involved in both events. Opening round of the club singles matchplay is also just around the corner, with the draw for opponents to be made by master of ceremonies Martin Duffy, so if any late stragglers still haven’t included their name on the entry sheet in the clubhouse, time is running out fast, so get it on now.
