Moville Celtic 3 Clonmany Shamrocks 2
Played in sunny conditions Moville took an early lead when Aoife McLaughin got in down the right side of the box and struck a low shot to the bottom corner of the net.
Clonmany had a good chance to respond within a minute when Katelyn McDaid got down the right wing and crossed but Yvonne McElhinney was unable to keep her volley down and it cleared the crossbar.
Moville doubled their lead in the 16th minute after a good move by Erin Coyle teed up Chantelle McCauley in space on the right side of the box and she slipped a low shot past Megan McDaid in the Clonmany goals.
Moville went 3-0 up in the 20th minute when Erin Coyle burst into the Clonmany box and hit a strong drive which found the top left hand corner of the net despite Megan’s best efforts to keep it out.
Clonmany made a quick breakthough at the start of the second half when Colleen Kearney made a strong run into the box and squared to Yvonne McElhinney, who shot low to Lisa Burns’ right-hand side to find the bottom corner of the net.
Clonmany had the greater share of possession in the second-half compared to the first but Moville still held a threat of a quick counter attack with Bronagh McGuinness pulling the strings in midfield and had two good chances but Megan McDaid was quick off her line to close down the angles and keep Clonmany in the game.
Clonmany grabbed a second goal in the 74th minute with Katelyn McDaid sending the ball through for Yvonne McElhinney to lift a shot across the face of the Moville’s goals and into the top right hand corner of the net.

Carndonagh FC 0 Bonagee United 5
Deborah Kerrigan hit her third hat-trick of the season on Thursday night as Bonagee United recorded a comfortable away win at Carndonagh.
Kerrigan has been in flying form so far this term and a first-half double set her on the way and teed Louise Gordon’s side up for a big win that lifts them into second spot, while Denise McElhinney – playing an outfield role – scored twice.
Carndonagh fired an early warning, but Naoimh Callaghan shot against the angle of post and crossbar after just two minutes and Bonagee ‘keeper Denise Gallagher saved well from Aisling Gibbons soon after.
Bonagee took the lead in the 16th minute. McElhinney won possession with a fine challenge in the middle of the park to set Kerrigan on the way and the Convoy native raced clear to fire home.
Kerrigan drove over with a blistering effort before doubling her lead on the half hour, again out-pacing the Carn rearguard to connect with Shannon McBride’s ball in before firing home.
Kerrigan’s deadly runs were causing all sorts of trouble and she twice set up McElhinney, who riffled over before seeing a second attempt creep just wide.
Carn ‘keeper Tara Kelly saved from Kerrigan, but McElhinney added the third on 60 minutes, tucking home with McBride providing the assist.
McElhinney bagged her second and Bonagee’s fourth, shooting home off the underside of the crossbar.
Anna Doherty was denied a fifth for the visitors but when Kerrigan breached the offside trap she was on her way to a hat-trick of hat-tricks for the season so far.
