ALICE DIVER’S hat-trick saw Bonagee United continue their perfect record in the 2019 North West Women’s Super League.
Bonagee United 7 Fanad United 1
Diver’s treble fired Bonagee to a big win over Fanad United at Dry Arch Park on Thursday night.
Seven days earlier, Fanad had held the defending champions, Illies Celtic, but they were unable to halt Bonagee’s run this time around with Diver leading the charge for the hosts.
Bonagee led after 10 minutes when Kaneshia McKinney riffled in the opening goal of the night.
The lead was doubled when Diver netted with a fine finish from distance that gave Rosheen McGinley no chance in the Fanad net.
Captain Natalie McFadden tucked home a third for Bonagee before half-time.
The goal of the night arrived after the break when Diver lit up the game. Picking the ball up on the left-hand edge of the area, Diver weaved inside before cracking a super effort to he net.
Diver’s hat-trick was completed when the midfielder headed home a Chantelle Grant corner.
Lauren Carr pulled a goal back for Fanad as she tucked home after the visitors had been denied by Clare Friel.
Bonagee had the bit between their teeth, though, and they finished well with Denise Doherty and Chantelle Grant on the mark.
