NORA STAPLETON WAS on hand to touch down what was effectively a match-winning try for Old Belvedere against Galweigans on Saturday.
With Old Belvedere leading 10-8 in Galway, Fahan native Stapleton scored the only score of the second half to give her team a 15-8 win.
That means that Old Belvedere finish the regulation league in third place in the Women’s All-Ireland League and now take on Blackrock away from home on Sunday in the semi-finals.
Out-half Stapleton is a two-time RBS Women’s Six Nations winner with Ireland.
Blackrock, who have Katie Norris from Moville in their ranks, lost for the first time this season on Saturday when they lost 22-7 against UL Bohemian at Stradbrook.
The other last four tie sees UL Bohemian entertain Railway Union from Sandymount, Dublin
