IRELAND RUGBY ace Nora Stapleton, who hails from Fahan, will oversee a training session for girls at Letterkenny Rugby Club next Wednesday evening.
Stapleton will be at Dave Gallaher Park, where she will take a training session with the Under-15 and Under-18 teams.
Stapleton is a two-time RBS Women’s Six Nations-winning out-half with Ireland.
In 2013 and 2015, Stapleton – along with Cappry native Larissa Muldoon – helped Ireland to win the Six Nations title, also winning a Grand Slam in 2013.
At the 2014 World Cup, Stapleton played a central role as Ireland stunned New Zealand in Paris to win 17-14.
It was the first time since 1991 that the Black Ferns lost a game at the World Cup, but Ireland were later beaten 40-7 by England at the semi-final stage.
Stapleton is the captain of Old Belvedere and in December scored the winning try in the Women’s All Ireland League final, where they defeated UL Bohemian 19-17 at Donnybrook.
Any girls between 12 and 17 who would like to have a go at rugby can phone Allen McCrea 0863325955 and welcome next Wednesday when Stapleton puts the teams through their paces
The session starts at 6.45 and will finish around 8.30.
Afterwards, there will be refreshments in the clubhouse and Stapleton will share her experiences with those in attendance.
