Illies Golden Gloves’ Caroline Gallagher was edged out in Friday night’s welterweight final at the Irish Senior Championships.
Gallagher was on the wrong end of a 3-2 split decision following her bout with Crumlin’s Clodagh Green.
Gallagher had an excellent win over Karolina Jaglowska to reach the final.
However, the judges came down slightly in favour of Green in Friday’s decider.
Gallagher gave as good as she got for long stretches of the fight, but Green held sway to make it a perfect night for the Crumlin club, who won three titles with Courtney Daly and Senan Kelly also triumphing.
