JASON QUIGLEY has a new opponent for Friday night’s middleweight contest at Fantasy Springs.
The Ballybofey man had been set to fight Dante Moore at the Indio venue, but Moore (9-1-2) has been forced to pull out of the bout because of an injury.
Instead, Quigley will now meet 30-year-old Mexican Freddie Lopez (9-3, 7KOs) who has stepped in as Moore’s replacement.
Orthodox puncher Lopez hails from Chihuahua, Mexico.
Lopez made his debut as far back as July 2008 when he overcame Emesto Escalante.
After eight fights in 2008 and 2009, Lopez was out of action following a defeat to Mauro Lucero until March of last year when he overcame Martin Rodriguez.
Lopez has lost his last two fights, against Artur Akavov in New York in November and in August when he was beaten by Abraham Han in Texas.
Quigley (9-0, 8KOs) is aiming for the tenth win of his professional career and has already fought three times previously at Fantasy Springs.
Last August, he overcame Michael Faulk having beaten Joshua Snyder in April and Tolutomi Agunbiade in March.
