The new North West Women’s Super League season gets underway this evening with four games down for decision.
There is a tasty opening night as champion Illies – the runaway victors in 2017, the innaugural Super League season – host last season’s runners-up, Lagan Harps.
John Doherty is again at the helm in Illies and will be aiming to pick up where they left off while Brid McGinty once more takes charge at Orchard Park.
Illies were in flying form all of last year and swept to the title. The Stranaclea women will again be the side to stop.
Swilly Rovers and Rasheney have withdrawn their participation in recent times, but Fanad United have entered for 2018.
Packie McElwaine is the man entrusted at Triagh-A-Loch for 2018 and Fanad welcome Clonmany Shamrocks for their first outing.
Clonmany are under the guidance of Geraldine Doherty this season.
There are several new bosses in position this term.
Chris McNulty is in the hot-seat at Bonagee United and they play host to Lee Farren’s Carndonagh at Dry Arch Park; Paddy Keys’ Greencastle are home to Moville, under the watch again of Raymond Dougal and John L Coyle.
