THE Donegal Junior League clubs have ratified new match day protocols ahead of their return to action later this month.
Games across the Donegal League’s five divisions were suspended in mid-March, but will resume on the weekend of July 18/19.
The club delegates met last night at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Letterkenny.
Clubs have agreed that dressing rooms will be utilised by away teams only. The away team will have use of both dressing rooms with the home team arriving ready to play, unless suitable and alternative facilities can be availed of.
Players will not be permitted to use shower facilities, while all team talks must take place on the pitch.
Players will not be allowed to move between the dressing rooms.
The proposal was unanimously adopted by the delegates present.
A Donegal League statement said: “This rule will be monitored strictly as we strive to keep everyone safe and it is expected that all players, coaches, managers and team mentors will play their part in seeing that this positive step forward is not abused.”
There will be games in the Glencar Inn Division One and Old Orchard Division Two on Saturday, July 18.
The Brian McCormick Sports Premier Division resumes the following day with title challengers Kilmacrennan Celtic, Kildrum Tigers (pictured) and Castlefin Celtic all away from home to Keadue Rovers, Drumkeen United and Bonagee United respectively.
The other title hopefuls, Cappry Rovers, are at home to Cranford United with Milford United welcoming Donegal Town to Moyle View Park.
A midweek blockbuster on July 22 sees Kildrum Tigers welcome Castlefin Celtic to Station Road Park.
There are ten points separating the top four teams with Kildrum still having nine games to play.
