THE OFFICIAL launch of the Donegal Junior Football League 2019/2020 season took place yesterday evening in the league’s Headquarters at Diamond Park, Ballyare.
The event was well attended by League officials, clubs representatives, sponsors and members of the local press.
Chairperson John Joe McCafferty welcomed all present and thanks everyone for attending what is an important event for the League ahead of another season and he wished all the clubs the very best for the coming season.
The league’s PRO Gary Foy paid tribute to all the businesses that continue to support the league by way of sponsorship, especially Brian McCormick of Brian McCormick Sports and Leisure, its mainsSponsor for many years and who was present at the launch.
Fixture Secretary Christina 0 Donnell gave a summary of last season’s statistics and informed the meeting that 37 clubs, an increase of one, and 49 teams, an increase of two, will take part this season.
She also outlined the make-up of League and Cup competitions with Two Divisions in the Saturday league, three in the Sunday league, with two internal and four external Cup competitions.
The draw for this season’s Voodoo Venue Cup also took place at the meeting.
