A DRAMATIC LATE goal by Gavin McGinley saw Naomh Columba have the edge on Milford at Pairc na nGael this afternoon.
Naomh Columba 2-9 Milford 2-8
All the goals came in the final eight minutes of this one as the pendulum swung between the sides.
Naomh Columba led 0-6 to 0-2 after a low-key first half an it was nip-and-tuck during the second half.
By the 52nd minute it was 0-9 to 0-6 in favour of Glen when the fun started and the goals began to flow.
Pauric Curley and Johnny Logue netted two goals in two minutes to put Danny O’Donnell’s Milford in control, but Naomh Columba’s response was instant.
From the kick-out, Glen worked the ball forward and Ryan Gillespie netted.
When Christopher Barrett drilled over a point, it looked like the winner for Milford, but a Paddy Bryne free fell short and McGinley palmed to the net in the crowded goalmouth.
