Mooney second, PB for Burke at Armagh International

LETTERKENNY AC’s Danny Mooney was second last night in the Armagh International while club-mate Nakita Burke set a new PB.

Mooney came second in the men’s 3k.

Mooney finished in eight minutes and 41 seconds. The Letterkenny athlete was just four seconds off the winner, Matthew Neill of Acorns AC.

Mooney beat Annadale’s Eskander Turki to the silver.

Finn Valley AC’s Gerard Gallgher was 12th in the men’s 3k, finishing in 8:49, while Darragh Crossan of Foyle Valley was 23rd in 9:01.

Burke finished in 9:28 in the ladies 3k. The time was a new personal best for Burke. 

The Letterkenny schoolteacher was 14th overall following another positive outing.
