MONA MCSHARRY returns to international competition in December at the LEN European Short Course Championships.
McSharry is a part of a 19-person (11 senior and eight junior) Irish squad that will take part in the Championships in Glasgow.
The Marlins Swimming Club, Ballyshannon ace is back after a break from the pool.
At the 2017 version of these Championships in Copenhagen, McSharry was a finalist.
Last December, McSharry broke six Irish records as she won six titles at the Irish Short-Course Swimming Championships in Lisburn.
There, she became Ireland’s fastest-ever female swimmer.
The Grange, County Sligo native won the 200m freestyle, 100m individual medley, 100m freestyle, 100m breaststroke, 50m freestyle and 200m individual medley titles.
McSharry became Ireland’s fastest ever swimmer as she broke the 100m freestyle record of Michelle Smith from 1995. McSharry swam 54.56 seconds and went on to break her own mark with a later effort of 54.34 seconds.
