*Comortas Peile na Gaeltacht*
CLG BnaG v Termon
Moyle Park, Saturday @ 3.30pm
Our Seniors will take on neighbours Termon in the Quarter Final of the Gaeltacht at home this Saturday. Termon defeated Cloughaneely 3-10 to 1-12 in Falcarragh at the weekend to set up the clash. With recent wins over Gaoth Dobhair in the Gaeltacht and Owen Roes of Tyrone in a challenge match Danny O’Donnell will be hoping the good start continues this weekend. All support much appreciated.
*Donegal Ladies*
Well done to Amber Barrett and her Donegal colleagues who made it 5 wins in a row in Division 2. Amber came off the bench to score a point in Donegals 4-11 to 2-7 win over Clare in Ballyshannon.
*Senior Friendly*
CLG BnaG 2-16 Owen Roe 1-10
The Seniors got another good warmup under their belts with a friendly against Tyrone Division 2 side Owen Roe today. It was a good intense hard workout for the lads with both sides treating the game more competitively than a friendly. Playing against a strong breeze Na Galloglaigh still managed to come out on top at half leading 1-8 to 1-6, and in the second half limited the Tyrone men to just 4 points to run out 9 point winners, 2-16 to 1-10. It was a good test against the team who finished 4th in Tyrones Division 2 last year and good preparation for the boys who will now play neighbours Termon in the next round of the Gaeltacht. Termon defeated Cloughaneely 3-10 to 1-12 in Falcarragh today to set up the fixture, which could take place next weekend.
Team: Caolan Mc Gettigan, Kieran Sheridan, Barry McNulty, Conor McNulty, Brandon Toye (0-1), Paddy Peoples, Enda McHugh, Paul Sweeney, Sean Black, Anthony Fisher (0-1), Luke Barrett (0-4), Jonny Logue (0-2), Adam Serrinha (1-0), Pauric Curley (1-2), Cathal Mc Gettigan (0-4). Subs: Sean Gallagher for Caolan McGettigan, PJ Hagan for Sheridan, Gary Merritt for Peoples, Joey Cullen for Sweeney, Darragh Black (0-2) for Fisher, Tj Evesson for McHugh, Kyle Black for Serrinha (all HT), Enda McHugh for Evesson (45m), Kieran Sheridan for C. McNulty (50m)
*Minors*
Gaoth Dobhair 0-13 CLG BnaG 0-6
Na Galloglaigh came out of the blocks well in first game on Saturday away to Gaoth Dobhair. They weathered an early onslaught from the home side in the opening 15 minutes to go on to lead 0-4 to 0-2 through some great free taking from Ryan McMahon and Marty Doyle and an excellent score by Ronan Docherty. However Gaoth Dobhair finished the half the better scoring 4 unanswered points in the final 10 minutes of the half to lead 0-6 to 0-4 at the break. Na Galloglaigh could have been further behind only for a great save by Jamie-Lee Blaney midway through the half. The second half started poorly for the blues conceding straight from the throw in and getting penned in their own half for the first 10 minutes under severe Gaoth Dobhair pressure who stretched their lead to 0-10 to 0-4. A good score from Dane Dunworth stopped the rot somewhat however when captain and centre back Cormac Toland picked up a black card for a trip Na Galloglaighs challenge became even tougher. Gaoth Dobhair scored 3 more points to leave it 0-13 to 0-5 with 15 remaining before Ryan McMahon added another for the blues. It was a spirited performance from Na Galloglaigh in their first run out of the season, especially the final 10 minutes, and they won’t be too disappointed with their display in Maghergallon. They’ll take heart from the performances of Matthew Stewart at full back and Conor Coll in the corner. Next up for the Minors is a home game against Cloughaneely on Sunday at 11.30am Scorers: Ryan McMahon (0-3, 3f), Ronan Docherty (0-1), Marty Doyle (0-1, 1f), Dane Dunworth (0-1)
