MILFORD TOOK A while to get going but in the end shared the spoils with Naomh Muire at Moyle View Park in Division 2.
Milford 2-8 Naomh Muire 1-11
A draw was probably a fair result although both sides might feel they left it behind them.
Milford – managed by former Naomh Muire man Danny O’Donnell – were all at sea defensively in the first 10 minutes as Naomh Muire showed great intensity and aggression to score 1-2 before the hosts even registered their first score.
[adrotate group=”31″]It was Daniel Devlin who scored the goal for the side managed by Eamon O’Boyle.
After this early spell of dominance from the visitors Milford responded very well and with the aid of a Darragh Black goal were only two behind at the break, 1-5 to 1-3.
The second half was a very even contest but Naomh Muire had their noses in front for the majority of it.
Luke Barrett was full forward for the second half and yielded two scores, the second a key one when Christopher Barrett got on to a break to finish to the back of the net and level the game midway through the half.
[adrotate group=”55″]The remaining 10 minutes was bit of a battle and when Cathal McGettigan scored a superb 45 late on Na Galloglaigh were ahead for the first time in the game in the closing minute or two.
But from the resultant kick out Naomh Mhuire went up the pitch to win a free in front of the posts to tie the game up with pretty much the last kick of them game through Harry Harden.
