Mikey Place’s lone goal secured Finn Harps a valiant three points in their bid for survival at the Waterford Regional Sports Centre on Friday night.
Place comfortably slotted away an 80th-minute penalty kick after being upended by Georgie Poynton inside he 18-yard box.
The victory puts Finn Harps level with UCD on 17 points having played two more games than the Students.
