FORMER KILDRUM TIGERS striker Michael Duffy was part of the Northern Ireland team who drew 1-1 with Iceland yesterday in Reykjavik in their 2017 European Under-21 Championship qualifier.
Ryan Johnson got on the end of a corner after just two minutes and powerfully headed home to make it 1-0 to the visitors. Aron ElÃs Thrándarson latched onto a loose pass and kept his cool to dispatch the equaliser on 37 minutes.
Duffy (pictured above) is on loan at Alloa Athletic from Celtic, having played for Derry City.
France, Ukraine and Macedonia are also in Group 3, as well as Scotland, who defeated Northern Ireland 2-1 on Saturday.
Former Letterkenny Rovers midfielder Dale Gorman, who now plays with Stevenage FC, was dismissed in that 2-1 loss and was therefore suspended for the fixture in Iceland.
Northern Ireland are back in action on Tuesday, October 13, when they welcome Macedonia to Mourneview Park in Lurgan.
