SHAUN MCSHANE WANTS a Scottish title rematch with Eddie Doyle later this year.
After being beaten to the Scottish super lightweight title by Doyle in March, McShane has designs on taking the belt at the end of 2016.
First, though, Scottish-based McShane will get back to action this Saturday night when he takes on journeyman Youssef Al Hamidi at the Grangemouth Sports Complex.
Syrian Al Hamidi has fought 106 times as a professional, winning 13, losing 90 and drawing three.
[adrotate group=”57″]Of his wins, his most notable is a 2008 win over the now WBA world lightweight champion Anthony Crolla in Bolton.
Lettermacaward native and former Dungloe ABC man McShane is confident, though.
“If I stick to boxing, I should be okay here,” he told Donegal Sport Hub.
“Youssef has been about the game and even has that win over Crolla, but I’d be confident for it.
[adrotate group=”55″]“I haven’t had a long training camp because I was added late to the show, but I’ve still got plenty done.”
McShane (3-3-1) was beaten 96-95 by Doyle at the Ravenscraig Sports Facility in March and the 35-year-old has a rematch in his sights.
McShane will also be on the bill at the MGM ‘Summer Showdown’ event at Bellahouston in Glasgow on June 25.
McShane said: “These fights will keep me going for a rematch and I’d hope to get in with Doyle again around October, I want that belt back in Donegal for Christmas!”
