BIRTHDAY boy Bryan McNamee had no luck in the light-welterweight final at the Open Senior Cadet Championships on Friday night.
The Convoy ABC star was narrowly beaten by Mullingar’s Jack Conroy.
McNamee was three-from-three from his previous national final appearances, but despite a dogged and determined display, the Deele College student was beaten on a split decision.
McNamee overcame Patrick Nevin (Sparticus) in his semi-final last weekend having beaten Jamie Harty from Rathkeale the previous evening in the quarter-final.
He was Donegal’s only representative on finals night.
