IT HAS BEEN A tough start to 2016 for Glenfin – but the Gaeltacht Lár men posted a first win of the year yesterday.
Glenfin 0-13 Cloughaneely 0-7
A six-point win over Cloughaneely at Pairc Tabhoige represents a first success of the year for Glenfin and they were led by the return of Donegal ace Frank McGlynn.
The former All-Star has had injury trouble of late having been out for a month with a hamstring injury, but McGlynn hit three points here as Glenfin moved away for a useful win.
Glenfin led 0-6 to 0-5 at half-time with Martin Maguire and Ciaran McFadden registering scores late in the first half to bring Cloughaneely close.
Michael McGlynn’s brace and three by Paddy O’Connor, all early in the second half, came in a decisive period for Glenfin.
Two late Frank McGlynn points added the cherry as Glenfin took the points.
